Journeyman Drywall Finisher

Overview We are seeking a skilled Journeyman Drywall Finisher to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in drywall finishing and a strong background in various construction trades. This role involves working on commercial and residential projects, ensuring high-quality finishes, and adhering to safety standards. The position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects, utilizing a broad skill set that includes plastering, carpentry, and restoration industry experience. Duties Finish drywall installations with precision, including taping, mudding, sanding, and texturing to achieve smooth surfaces. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to ensure accurate application of finishing techniques. Install and repair drywall, metal studs, and related framing components. Apply plastering techniques for interior and exterior surfaces, including stucco and plaster finishes. Perform caulking, trim carpentry, door hanging, and fixture installation to complete project details. Assist with water damage restoration, mold remediation, and other restoration industry tasks as needed. Operate hand tools and power equipment safely while maintaining a clean work environment. Collaborate with project managers, carpenters, plumbers, and other trades to ensure project specifications are met efficiently. Experience Proven experience as a Drywall Finisher or similar role within the construction industry. Strong background in construction estimating, site preparation, and project planning is preferred. Familiarity with construction site safety protocols and ability to work effectively in various environments. Knowledge of schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings related to drywall installation and finishing. Additional skills such as plastering, carpentry (trim carpentry, frame carpentry), masonry, tile laying, flooring installation, painting (including airless paint spraying), plumbing (including construction plumbing), water damage restoration, mold remediation, fixture installation, drywall taping/mudding/sanding techniques are highly desirable. Experience working with the restoration industry or remodeling projects is a plus.
