Cloud Information Security Engineer

ResponsibilitiesKforce has a client seeking a Cloud Security Engineer in Fort Lauderdale, FL.Summary: This role is responsible for ensuring the secure operation of cloud infrastructure, platforms, and applications. The ideal candidate will design and implement security strategies across cloud-based and hybrid environments, proactively mitigate threats, and support compliance initiatives. Responsibilities:Design, implement, and maintain secure cloud environments across IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS platformsLead proactive security controls to prevent external threats and provide leadership updates on advanced security risksMonitor and respond to cloud security incidents; Perform digital forensics and root cause analysisDevelop and enforce cloud security standards in collaboration with Engineering and Application Development teamsSupport disaster recovery and business continuity planning for cloud environmentsConduct audits and deliver metrics to measure and improve security postureStay current with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practicesParticipate in incident response activities and other security-related duties as assignedSkills5+ years of Cybersecurity experience, including 3+ years in cloud architecture and operations (Azure, AWS, GCP)Strong knowledge of cloud security technologies: IAM, encryption, PKI, threat detection, CI/CD, and automationExperience with Cloud Security Posture Management and SaaS security frameworksFamiliarity with compliance standards (PCI, GDPR, NIST, ISO27000)Excellent communication and relationship-building skills; ability to influence stakeholdersStrong problem-solving and leadership abilities; adept at managing multiple prioritiesPreferred Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related fieldIndustry certifications such as CCSK, CCSP, CISSP, or equivalentExperience writing formal security assessments and reportsBackground in data protection, privacy management, and incident responseThe pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law.
