Special Education Instructional Coach/Teacher

We are currently looking for a Special Education Instructional Coach/Teacher within the Student Services division of the Chester County Intermediate Unit to work in the Reading School District. The position will provide direct support to administrators, professionals, and direct care staff in the elementary AS classrooms across the district.Summary Of PositionThe role of the Specialized Instructional Coach is to build capacity, knowledge base, and skills so that professional and support staff can implement evidence-based practices, including but not limited to Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Verbal Behavior (VB), at an independent and advanced level. The Specialized Instructional Coach assists in conducting program site reviews of special education programs to identify strengths and needs through a review of documents, interviewing staff, and conducting direct observations. The Specialized Instructional Coach then serves in a lead consultative role to the professional and support staff at their designated site(s).Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesThe essential duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following fundamental duties:Serve as a lead consultant to professional and support staff at designated site(s) by offering guidance, recommendations, and support to ensure the successful implementation of specialized instructional strategies.Develop and implement strategies to build the capacity of professional and support staff by collaborating with staff to identify areas for skill development, creating plans for skill development, modeling skills, and monitoring and providing feedback to staff.Provide individualized coaching and feedback to help staff improve their skills in implementing evidence-based practices.Use data-driven insights to make informed decisions and adjustments to instructional approaches.Provide written summaries/consult notes to the appropriate stakeholders based on classroom observation, consultation in quantitative data and in observational terms.Conduct program site reviews to assess the strengths and needs of a program through reviewing documents, interviewing staff, and conducting direct observations.Facilitate training sessions, workshops, and professional development activities focused on evidence-based practices, including Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Verbal Behavior (VB).Provide resource/reference materials as needed to administration, professional staff, instructional assistants, and parents on evidence-based practices.Collaborate with other instructional coaches, educators, and specialists to foster a supportive and cohesive learning environment.Present posters/ and/or lecture at district, state and national levels on effective approaches based on research and practice.Pursue/explore and attend trainings that will allow further development of advanced skills related to implementation of effective instructional practices.Train staff in implementing telepractice (direct training as well as on-going consultation and support).Motivate teams to expand or further implement ABA techniques within classrooms, and program wide.Support teams on difficult/ complex student casesAssist teams developing skills related to documentation to include IEP writing, data collection, FBA/PBSP, and programing.Assist administrators, and teachers in development of new and existing special education classrooms.QualificationsEducation and Experience:Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education or related field required; Masters Degree preferredMinimum of 3 years experience in assessment and implementation of ABA and/or VB in special education setting requiredProfessional Certifications, Licenses, Registrations, and ClearancesBCBA Certification or in-process of completing requiredPDE instructional certificate requiredCurrent police, child abuse & FBI fingerprint clearancesClearance as an MA provider by the Commonwealth of PA and federal government (conducted by CCIU upon hire).2024-2025 SALARY SCHEDULE (Professional):$56,355 to $87,396 - Instructional I Certification$58,814 to $90,897 - Instructional II Certification$62,567 to $99,261 - Master's Degree$66,706 to $105,039 - Masters + 30LOCATION:Reading School DistrictWe strive to hire exceptional, diverse, and passionate individuals that help us achieve our vision of acting as educational leaders who contribute to a better Chester County and beyond.
