The Opportunity: We are looking for a driven and detail-oriented Building Systems Design Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be involved in the design and engineering of critical building systems, particularly focusing on fire protection systems for commercial properties. This position provides the opportunity to learn specialized skills in fire protection while working with a team of experienced engineers in a company that fosters continued learning and professional development. Role Responsibilities: Design and engineer building systems with a focus on fire protection, ensuring compliance with fire codes and regulations. Create detailed CAD designs, hydraulic calculations, and final engineering drawings for client projects. Collaborate with architects, contractors, and engineers to address project specifications and technical challenges. Conduct site visits as needed to ensure compliance with design specifications and project requirements. Contribute to developing and maintaining CAD libraries and design standards. Mentor junior designers and engineers, fostering a culture of learning and collaboration. Engage with external stakeholders, including plan reviewers and city engineers, to resolve technical challenges. Role Requirements: Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Fire Protection Engineering, or a related field. Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Eagerness to learn fire protection engineering and grow within the company. Ability to manage multiple projects and work both independently and as part of a team. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in commercial building construction and system design. NICET certification or desire to pursue it. Experience with building utilities such as HVAC, electrical, or plumbing systems. Prior experience in fire protection design or related fields is a plus. Compensation and Benefits: Salary: $90,000 - $105,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
