With over 480 MWh installed and 1 GWh of projects in advanced stages, we're at the forefront of solar + storage innovation.Scope of JobThe IHI Terrasun Solutions Field Engineering Technician will provide customers with technical direction and support for ITS systems, including hands on installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of these products. The Field Engineering Technician must be able to articulate technology and product positioning to both business and technical users and must be able to identify all technical issues of assigned accounts to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the system life. The selected candidate can expect a fast paced, exciting learning environment as we move into the next phase of business growth.Commission (validate and verify), execute preventative maintenance, and repair energy storage systemsProvide technical consultation and product support to technical and commercial counterparts, including communications with other Field Service Engineers, Sales, Engineering, Product Management, and Logistics on a daily basisCommunicate customer feedback to Engineering and Sales teamsProvide technical support for fault isolation and troubleshootingTravels to and remains at all assigned jobsites until assigned tasks are completedEnsure excellence in all operational areas Requirements:Relevant experience in field engineering & services in electrical power equipment or energy spaceExperience with industrial electrical equipment and workDemonstrated ability to exceed individual performance goals and to work with engineering & sales personnel to achieve team objectivesSelf-directed, highly detail-oriented, organized, and flexibleExcellent oral and written communication skillsWillingness to work with customersWillingness to work overnight shifts, when necessary Desirable:Degree in technical field such as EE, ME, or Computer Science/EngineeringKnowledge of detailed requirements of a broad range of utility-scale battery applicationsKnowledge of detailed requirements of renewable energy inverter and DC-DC converter operation and maintenance.Demonstrated accomplishments in customer-focused problem solvingWork Environment & Physical DemandsIMPORTANT: Work is performed in the field, in an outdoor environment, in the Nevada desert. Employee must be able to work in high-heat outdoor conditions, with temperatures sometimes exceeding 100 degrees Fahrenheit, and be able to follow all safety standards, rules, and regulations for working in hot environments.Employee must be able to stand, walk, and carry, and lift at least 50 pounds.Employees will be working in a High Voltage environment electrical equipment. When working at a customer project site or supplier facility, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be worn for safety purposes.Limited travel is required to customer project sites and supplier manufacturing facilities.This position is considered a "safety-sensitive" position and may have a drug-testing requirement for new hires. It may also require randomized drug testing throughout employment.Travel & Location:The position is based in Moapa Valley near Las Vegas, Nevada at our Gemini power plant, and involves 5% or more travel to other customer sites, for training, or to the home office in Chicago.CompensationThis is a salaried, non-exempt position that is eligible for overtime wages. The salary range is $67,600 - $83,000 with an hourly rate of $32.50 - $40.00/hour for calculating overtime wages.
