STEP provides intensive, short-term stabilization services to youth, ages 12-17, for an average of 15 days. Our programs deeply engage in conversations and training on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion to bring equity and justice to the youth and families we serve.RESPONSIBILITIES:Evaluate illness or injuriesMonitor Physician orders for medication or treatment, and prescriptions filled at outside pharmaciesMaintain working relationships with Pediatricians, Specialists, Psychiatrists, Therapists, and hospitals who provide care to clientsArrange appointments or receive orders for treatments when nursing expertise is required to facilitate the processOngoing training with staff on medications and handling medicationsProvide other health-related education to staff and clientsDocument all nursing interventions, including maintaining medication assistance recordsCollect and analyze assessment data to identify treatment problems and formulate individualized outcomes and plans. Implement and evaluate nursing interventionsReview all medical incident reports for shiftsParticipate in multidisciplinary team meetingsMeet regularly with the Program Director and Psychiatrists as requestedCollaborate with Psychiatrist to ensure quality of medication administration, adequate consents, medical treatment and follow-upQUALIFICATIONSREQUIRED:* Bachelor's of Science in Nursing OR* Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)Active CA Registered Nurse licenseCurrent CPR-BLS certificationAt least 21 years of ageTB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirementsValid driver's license, clean driving record, and insurability through Seneca Family of Agencies' insurance policyPREFERRED:Psychiatric Nursing experienceBilingual Spanish skill setGood critical-thinking, communication, and organization skillsSCHEDULE* Per diem; number of shifts will vary* Monday - Friday; 8:30am - 4:30pmBENEFITSStarting at $60.10 - $62.60 per yearAdditional compensation provided upon passing bilingual language proficiency examSalary increases each year* $2,000 sign-on bonus
