HOKE COUNTY SCHOOLSAccounts Payable SpecialistFinance TeamTitle: Accounts Payable SpecialistReports To: Chief Financial OfficerTerms of Employment: Full TimeSalary: $3357.70 - $4065.32FLSA Exempt/Non-Exempt: Non-Exempt Qualifications:Bachelor's DegreeAccounting or business experience preferredApplicant must be able to work in a detailed, task-oriented, and confidential atmosphereSupervises:NoneEssential Job Functions:Performs moderately complex technical accounting work including the disbursement and accounting of federal, state, local and capital outlay dollarsEnsures proper timely payments on vender accounts, inter-school billings and various contracted servicesPerforms billing for postage and afterschool care; and assists with Fixed AssetsProcesses all purchase orders as required through finance, central office, individual schools, transportation and maintenanceProcesses invoices, travel reimbursement vouchers, and contracted services for paymentAssigns vendor numbers to invoices and batch invoices for processingEnsures that mileage rates are updated and correctChecks input and assists in check writing for Child NutritionAttaches checks to corresponding invoices and mail checksScans and files completed accounts payable detailMaintains file of outstanding purchase orders, invoices and receiving documentationContacts and confers with vendors and /or school personnel, as necessary, to resolve discrepancies in purchase orders, vendor invoices and associated recordsPrepares, distributes 1099 forms, and completes the required necessary IRS documentationPrepares monthly, quarterly and yearly sales and use tax reportsTakes daily deposit to bankAssists with fixed assetsParticipates in team building within the Finance Department and the Central Office as a wholePerforms other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisorPhysical and Cognitive RequirementsThe major physical and cognitive requirements listed below are applicable to the Accounts Payable job classification within the Finance Department of Hoke County Schools. Work in this classification is considered light physical work requiring the exertion of up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to move objects.
