Construction Coordinator

Job TitleResponsible for managing general contractors, subcontractors, testing agencies, and schedules for facility construction projects. Oversees construction contracts, conducts on-site inspections to ensure compliance with plans and specifications, and supports overall project completion. Coordinates project activities, reviews contract changes, and ensures alignment with project schedules and objectives.Requirement/Must HaveMinimum of 5+ years of construction or A/E firm project management experience. Strong construction background experience. Experience in commercial construction projects. Good organizational and communication skills. Proficiency with computers and standard software tools.ExperienceExperience in managing contractors and subcontractors on construction projects. Experience with project scheduling, cost estimation, and coordination activities is preferred. Automotive manufacturing experience is a plus.ResponsibilitiesManage general contractor and subcontractor field construction activities. Ensure compliance with construction safety requirements and maintain incident-free projects. Complete daily field status reports for management review. Review contractor change orders, validate scope and costs, and submit for approval. Coordinate communication between owner, contractors, and engineering teams. Review and process requests for information, submittals, shop drawings, and construction documents. Support and participate in weekly contractor meetings, including preparing meeting minutes and action items. Coordinate project close-out activities including as-built documentation, operations and maintenance manuals, and training. Support commissioning and start-up activities. Review, prepare, and coordinate completion of punch-list items. Conduct and complete acceptance testing procedures. Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with project plans and specifications. Research, plan, and administer building projects using knowledge of construction methods and materials. Present status reports and updates to stakeholders. Review and coordinate contract changes into project execution. Track current and upcoming project activities and implement corrective actions to maintain schedule.SkillsProject coordination and construction management. Scheduling and cost control.
