Our work takes you across the world and then provides the tools to live a more informed and fulfilled life.PURPOSE OF THE ROLEWe are seeking a forward-thinking leader responsible for evolving and delivering the overarching audience strategy for BBC.com and its international app. The role also oversees the team that curates the BBC website and app globally.This key senior editorial position will work across BBC Studios and with stakeholders in BBC News and throughout the BBC group to maximize the global reach of the BBC's journalism, deepen engagement on owned and operated services, and support commercial editorial goals, including a subscription offer. As part of BBC Studios, you'll help deliver trusted journalism and distinctive storytelling to millions worldwide while working in an environment that encourages creativity, professional growth, and purpose-driven work.YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACTProvide guidance and management for the global audience and curation teams, fostering a culture of inclusion, creativity, candor, and accountability.Implement a dynamic, responsive digital audience development strategy that helps enhance the BBC's reputation, expand its reach and drive revenue.Collaborate with senior leadership to shape editorial strategy and distribution in line with strategic goals.Oversee a curation strategy that ensures BBC.com and the BBC app are essential destinations for new visitors, loyal readers and subscribers, providing value to audiences and maximizing commercial editorial goals.Develop newsroom tools to help our editorial teams make more informed decisions.Champion the application of tactical research across Digital News & Streaming, collaborating with colleagues to ensure sound, data-based decision-making.Stay abreast of developments media creation, consumption and distribution, seeking new ways to share knowledge internally and disseminate our work externally.YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCEESSENTIAL CRITERIA:10+ years of news and editorial experience, with at least five years of work in audience strategy, preferably at an organization with multiple revenue streams.Proven track record of building audience data, measurement, and insight tools to inform strategy and evaluate audience behavior.Demonstrated news judgment and commitment to BBC editorial guidelines.Enthusiasm for the BBC's journalism, storytelling, and values.DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:Strong grasp of US and international news, as well as a keen appreciation for what intrigues, delights and engages audiences beyond the news agenda.Experience working with multiple stakeholders to deliver meaningful insights that serve both short- and longer-term projects.Familiarity with A/B testing, push strategies, content syndication, and personalized content recommendations.Familiarity with user needs and how to leverage user needs models to drive audience growth, engagement and habituation.Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across internal and external audiences.Experience operating within complex, matrixed organizations and distributed global teams.BENEFITS AND PERKS100% Employer-Paid Medical and Dental Insurance (PPO plans)Generous Paid Time OffFlexible, Hybrid Working ArrangementsWork/life balanceFree Retirement Consulting to All EmployeesPet InsuranceCommuter BenefitsGym ReimbursementCOMPENSATIONThe anticipated annual base salary for this position is $190,000 - $230,000. This range does not include bonus compensation or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for.
