About the role: Creates, edits, and posts content on in-store backroom screens and company intranet. Provides project coordination and support for programs and vehicles for staff engagement and recognition.Contributes to a culture where internal audiences are informed and engaged through communication that is clear, efficient, and aligned with strategic and operational goals. Responsible for ensuring smooth and effective communication within New Seasons Market, particularly focusing on operational processes and information dissemination. This role supports the communication needs of various departments, assists with internal communication strategies, and ensures that information is accurately conveyed to the appropriate stakeholders. Position Responsibilities: Creates and supports communication tools and vehicles for different internal audiences. Assists with translation of strategies, initiatives, and policies into a format that is clear, relevant, and accessible. Maintains a consistent brand voice and messaging in all communications. Leverages a variety of media to deliver vital information, company news, and storytelling that increases staff knowledge and engagement, including urgent and/or crisis communications. Supports organization and execution of anniversary awards for staff. Utilizes critical thinking to resolve issues, overcome obstacles and resolve conflicts quickly. Builds and maintains collaborative relationships with Store Support and store teams. Maintains excellent communication with key stakeholders. Leverages systems to support planning and communication tasks. Prioritizes and executes multiple tasks and responsibilities in an environment with frequent interruptions and shifting priorities. General Requirements: As a retail grocer, we operate 7 days/week and 365 days/year and as such work in support of our stores may include evening and weekend hours per the needs of the business. Valid Driver License and vehicle may be required, with ability to travel regularly to store locations, trade shows / events and/or other off-site locations throughout the local region. Tools and Equipment Used (not all inclusive):This position works with standard office equipment. May be required to use the following tools and equipment when working in stores or offsite; baler, hand truck, POS, industrial kitchen equipment (i.e. blast chiller, grill, knives/blades, oven, grills, scales, etc.) and basic housekeeping / janitorial items . This position works consistently at a light work level and may be asked to work on occasion at a medium or heavy work level when supporting stores or other offsite events. Frequently required to sit, walk, reach and grasp. Occasionally required to be on feet with a mix of standing and walking throughout shift. Up to occasionally, dependent on location, required to climb stairs, step stool and /or ladders. What you Bring as a Candidate: Minimum of 2 years of experience creating written communications, content and/or tools for varied audiences required. Previous grocery, retail or related experience highly preferred. High level of attention to detail required. Strong writing and editing skills required. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, with skills to learn new computer programs and systems. Experience with Smartsheet a plus. Experience planning and executing events preferred. Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with ability to respond to urgent job responsibilities as they arise and flexible when priorities redirect. Excellent interpersonal skills, including tact and diplomacy, to collaborate, negotiate and communicate effectively and professionally with cross-functional partners at all levels in the company. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment around sensitive information. Ability to travel to store locations and other sites throughout Portland metro area. Physical and Environmental Work Space: Work occurs in office, a variety of off-site environments and in a grocery store environment which includes surfaces that can be wet and slippery, moderate noise level, and temperature extremes in controlled environments in the cooler and freezer, and depending on location, working outside in all temperatures.
