Company Description Google Developer Groups (GDG) FAU on Campus is a vibrant, student-led technology community supported by Google Developers at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, FL. Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a Data Engineer, located in Delray Beach, FL. The Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and storage solutions. Key responsibilities include managing data integration, analyzing complex datasets, improving system performance, and ensuring data quality and security. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, the Data Engineer will support data-driven decision-making by delivering robust data infrastructure and analytics capabilities. Qualifications Expertise in Data Engineering, including data pipeline development, data modeling, and database managementProficiency in programming languages like Python, Java, or Scala, and experience with big data tools like Hadoop or Apache SparkKnowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, as well as experience working with ETL/ELT toolsExperience with Cloud platforms such as Google Cloud, AWS, or AzureStrong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze and process complex datasetsFamiliarity with data security and governance practicesEffective communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional teamworkA Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field; a Master’s is a plus
