Position Overview
The Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial machinery to ensure safe and efficient plant operations. This role involves mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic work, and requires strong technical knowledge, problem‑solving skills, and a commitment to minimizing equipment downtime. This includes overhead crane service and installations.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Maintenance & Repair
Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production equipment, including conveyors, motors, pumps, gearboxes, PLC‑controlled systems, overhead cranes, and other industrial machinery.
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues using troubleshooting tools and techniques.
Repair or replace defective components such as bearings, sensors, valves, belts, chains, and motors.
Technical & Operational Support
Read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
Collaborate with production teams to support equipment reliability and efficiency.
Assist in equipment installation, commissioning, and upgrades.
Safety & Compliance
Follow all OSHA, NFPA, and company safety guidelines during maintenance activities.
Maintain clean and organized work areas in accordance with 5S and facility standards.
Document maintenance tasks, inspections, and repairs as required by company procedures.
Qualifications
Required
High school diploma or GED.
2–5 years of industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience.
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical circuits, lubrication, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
Ability to use hand tools, power tools, multimeters, and welding/fabrication equipment (as applicable).
Ability to work independently and diagnose complex equipment issues.
Preferred
Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or related field or equivalent experience.
Certifications such as Maintenance Technician Certificate, OSHA 10/30, or equivalent.
Experience with PLC troubleshooting (Allen‑Bradley, Siemens, etc.).
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb for extended periods.
Comfortable working in manufacturing environments (noise, heat, cold, etc.).
Ability to safely operate maintenance equipment.
