Optician

Job Summary The Optician is responsible for assisting patients/customers in selecting, fitting, and adjusting eyeglasses and contact lenses based on prescriptions provided by optometrists or ophthalmologists. This role combines technical knowledge, customer service, and sales to ensure optimal vision care and patient satisfaction. Key Responsibilities Interpret and verify eyeglass and contact lens prescriptions Assist patients in selecting frames, lenses, and lens coatings appropriate for their needs Take accurate facial measurements to ensure proper fit and alignment Adjust, repair, and maintain eyeglasses Educate patients on lens options, care, and proper use Process insurance claims, payments, and sales transactions Maintain patient records and inventory of frames and lenses Ensure compliance with vision care regulations and company policies Provide excellent customer service in a professional and friendly manner Qualifications Strong knowledge of eyewear, lenses, and optical equipment Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Attention to detail and accuracy Basic computer and point-of-sale skills Bilingual Benefits Paid time off Employee eyewear discounts Uniform reimbursement Pay: $17.50 - $22.00 per hour Expected hours: 21.0 – 28.0 per week Benefits: Employee discount Paid time off Work Location: In person
