Python Software Engineer
We are looking for an experienced Python Software Engineer to design and develop software platforms for enterprise network and infrastructure management, with a focus on DNS, DHCP, and IP Address Management (DDI/IPAM).This is a hands-on software development role focused on building Python services, REST APIs, automation frameworks, and integrations that transform manual network management processes into scalable, API-driven solutions. The engineer will collaborate with networking, data center, compute, storage, and platform engineering teams to deliver reliable, automated infrastructure services across large-scale environments.Key ResponsibilitiesPython Software DevelopmentDesign, develop, test, and maintain production-quality Python applications, backend services, APIs, libraries, and automation frameworks. Apply modern software engineering practices, including code reviews, automated testing, Git, CI/CD, API design, debugging, and performance optimization. Build scalable, reliable software that operates across multiple data centers.Network Management – DNS, DHCP & IPAMDevelop software solutions for enterprise DNS, DHCP, and IP Address Management. Automate IP address allocation, reservation, discovery, reclamation, and lifecycle management. Build APIs and workflows to manage DNS records, DHCP configurations, subnets, address pools, leases, and related network resources. Integrate DDI/IPAM platforms with networking, compute, cloud, provisioning, and data center systems.APIs, Automation & Platform IntegrationDesign REST APIs and programmatic interfaces for network and infrastructure services. Develop event-driven automation and integrations with CMDBs, provisioning systems, and infrastructure automation platforms. Automate network resource onboarding and configuration, including IP allocation and recycling. Integrate network management services with bare-metal provisioning, PXE/network boot, virtualization, cloud workflows, and self-service infrastructure platforms.Reliability & ObservabilityImplement monitoring, logging, metrics, health checks, dashboards, and alerting using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or similar platforms. Track service availability, latency, capacity, error rates, and resource utilization. Participate in incident response and root-cause analysis while improving system reliability through automation and operational tooling.Required Skills & QualificationsExperience: 5+ years of relevant experience and a bachelor's degree.Software Engineering: Strong hands-on Python development experience, production backend services, REST API design, object-oriented programming, data structures and algorithms, automated testing, Git, CI/CD, debugging, and performance troubleshooting.Networking & DDI: Solid understanding of TCP/IP, subnets, routing, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, and IP address management. Knowledge of DNS zones and records, DHCP scopes and leases, IP reservations, and IP address lifecycle management. Experience developing or integrating network management systems through APIs.Infrastructure Automation: Experience with Ansible, Puppet, or similar automation tools. Familiarity with CMDBs, infrastructure source-of-truth systems, bare-metal provisioning, and automated infrastructure onboarding.Linux & Production Operations: Strong Linux development and troubleshooting skills, with an understanding of service reliability, scalability, and production support.Collaboration & Ownership: Ability to work across software engineering, networking, compute, storage, data center, and SRE teams. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to translate ambiguous infrastructure requirements into maintainable software solutions.Preferred QualificationsExperience with enterprise DDI/IPAM platforms such as Infoblox, BlueCat, NetBox, Nautobot, Kea DHCP, or BIND.
