Behavioral Health Therapist (Hybrid – Primarily School-Based)
Healing Mind Wellness is a dedicated community health center providing comprehensive primary and mental health care for individuals of all ages. Our integrative approach combines traditional psychiatric services with holistic and alternative therapies to promote overall wellbeing and resilience within our community.
Healing Mind Wellness is seeking a Behavioral Health Therapist for a hybrid role with a strong emphasis on school-based services. This position primarily serves students within partnering schools while also providing services in our outpatient office and through telehealth as needed.
The Behavioral Health Therapist plays an integral role in fulfilling the agency’s mission to provide a safe, healing space for all clients. This clinician will work collaboratively with school personnel, families, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure students receive high-quality, accessible behavioral health care within the school setting.
Clinical services include mental health assessments, individual therapy, group therapy, family sessions, care coordination, and collaboration with school staff to support student success.
The therapist is expected to provide the highest standard of care in compliance with local, state, and federal laws, including COMAR and CARF regulations.
Provide individual, group, couples, and family therapy, with a strong focus on school-based student services
Conduct school-based assessments and develop timely, individualized treatment plans
Collaborate with teachers, school counselors, administrators, and parents/guardians
Participate in student support meetings and coordinate care within the school system
Provide crisis intervention and support within the school setting when necessary
Deliver outpatient and telehealth services as assigned
Submit documentation within 48 hours of service delivery
Attend monthly clinical meetings and participate in in-service trainings
Consult with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care and optimize the client experience
Make referrals to community resources as needed
Maintain compliance with Healing Mind Wellness policies, COMAR, and CARF standards
Demonstrate flexibility in responding to the evolving needs of school and agency programming
Master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling or related field; licensure or certification as required by state law (e.g., LCSW, LPC).
Proven experience working with children and adolescents in behavioral health or school settings.
Strong knowledge of crisis intervention techniques, addiction counseling, PTSD care, and working with individuals with disabilities or developmental delays.
Proficiency in medical terminology, documentation standards, and electronic health records systems.
Familiarity with HIPAA regulations ensuring confidentiality of patient information.
Excellent communication skills for engaging children, families, educators, and multidisciplinary teams effectively.

Pay: $55.00 - $65.00 per hour
