Site Safety Coordinator

This position will provide site safety training for all employees as well as provide technical and safety support for the project leadership. Ability to develop and enforce a high-quality site safety program and an injury free work environment. Field visibility expectation is 80%.Key ResponsibilitiesDirect safety oversight for energized transmission line structure replacements, ensuring adherence to live line work methods, minimum approach distances, and utility safety standards during all phases of constructionConduct accident/incident investigations, near miss, property damage, assist with claim management, and implement corrective action items to avoid reoccurrence. Perform orientation training for new employees and equipment training competency. Monitor safety performance through field audits, safety observations, and corrective action tracking, reinforcing safe work practices and verifying compliance with Versant, OSHA, and Sargent project specific requirementsConducted ROW safety assessments covering access routes, vegetation hazards, environmental constraints, and public interface risks, implementing controls to maintain safe work zones and regulatory complianceAssume any additional duties and responsibilities as delegated by Sargent Electrical Management teamQualifications10+ Years experience in utility, transmission/distribution, or high-risk construction environments, preferredWorking knowledge of OSHA 1910.269 and 1926 Subpart V, including minimum approach distances, electrical hazard controls, and live line work practicesExperience supporting field crews performing transmission line construction, structure replacements, rigging, crane operations, and ROW activities such as vegetation management and access developmentCertifications such as OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR/AED, and preferably CHST or CUSP, or the ability to obtain them within a defined timeframe. Live Line Bare Hand experience and union lineman experience1-3 years’ experience in construction safety managementSkillsStrong interpersonal and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of diverse individualsExcellent communication skills.
