Backend Software Engineer – Mid/Senior (Java / Python / C#) – Investment Banking$120,000–$160,000 + bonus & benefits | Florida | 3 days onsite | PermanentWe’re hiring a Mid-to-Senior Backend Software Engineer to join the Florida team of an investment bank, working on complex, business-critical technology within financial markets.This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys solving difficult technical problems, designing scalable systems and taking ownership, while still writing and shipping code.You’ll work across backend development, system design and technical leadership, as well as collaborating directly with clients to integrate technology into their environments.What we’re looking for:Strong backend software engineering experienceCommercial experience with Java, Python or C#Experience designing and building scalable systems and microservicesStrong problem-solving and software design skillsExperience with code reviewsAbility to mentor and support other engineersComfortable working directly with clients and technical stakeholdersWe’re interested in strong backend engineers rather than candidates who tick every technology box.Experience with some of the following would be particularly useful:JavaKafkaKubernetes and containerised microservicesAzure or other cloud platformsCucumber / BDDAutomated testingDistributed systemsSalary: $120,000–$160,000 + bonus & benefitsLocation: FloridaWorking pattern: Hybrid – 3 days per week onsitePlease note: This position cannot provide current or future visa sponsorship.
