Glass Technican

JOB TITLE : Glass Technician DEPARTMENT : Glass department FLSA CLASSIFICATION : Non-exempt (hourly) Position Summary: Cut and/or insulate glass; make and install metal grids in glass; perform sandblasting. Essential Functions: Perform department functions listed above Responsible for quality of product Responsible for preventative maintenance when assigned by department leader Work overtime when required to meet customer commitments Keep work area clean and organized Education and Experience: High School diploma or G.E.D. is a plus Experience progression: Cut and insulate rectangular pieces Sandblasting Cut and insulate curved pieces Gridwork Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Math skills sufficient for the following: Development and use of jigs Ability to use templates Ability to read shop order Attention to detail Knowledge of Glass Safety General Skills lighter glass cutter tape measure straight-edge caulking gun razor blades sandblaster miter saw router and circle cutter Advance 1 Skills Receiving Items in (Alere) Purchasing Glass (Alere) Cutting Glass with Hand Tools Insulating / Assembling Glass Miter Saw - Cut Metal Grid Belt Sanding Glass Edges Drill Press & Hand Drilling Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required: Safety glasses Protective gloves – As Needed Blast hood Jumpsuit – As Needed Steel Toed shoes #J-18808-Ljbffr
