Utilities System Administrator Lead Louisville, KY About the RoleWe are seeking a Utilities System Administrator to serve as the Lead resource supporting a major utility client’s Accelerated IP Connectivity rollout in Louisville, KY. At a high level, this position supports a client that is migrating from one Energy Management System (EMS) to another — moving from the existing OSI EMS to the target-state GE EMS platform. As part of that transition, field device communications are being updated across approximately 200 substations, requiring rigorous point verification in both the old and new EMS environments. The Lead Admin will also be responsible for support junior level admins. The ideal candidate is a seasoned utility professional with deep OSI or EMS experience who can navigate technical complexity, prioritize a high-volume workload, and effectively direct the work of junior team members.Required Qualifications:7+ years of experience in utility transmission operations, EMS systems, or a related fieldHands-on experience with OSI EMS systems, including configuration, modeling, and point-to-point testingExperience supporting IP Connectivity or substation communication modernization programsStrong understanding of RTU point-to-point testing processes including status, analog, and control pointsDemonstrated ability to lead small technical teams in a client-facing environmentExperience coordinating with field crews, contractor teams, and operator desksMust be local to or willing to work on-site in Louisville, KYPreferred Qualifications:Experience working within utility environmentFamiliarity with Burns & McDonnell or similar PMO frameworksBackground in application transformation or EMS platform consolidation effortsExperience supporting multi-year, large-scale substation rollout programsRole Responsibilities:Technical LeadershipServe as the primary technical lead for OSI EMS system support and operationsOversee and manage the OSI-to-GE interface, ensuring continuity and data integrity between the two systems during the transition periodSupport the long-term goal of a unified EMS system across our utility client’s territoriesProvide technical guidance on application transformation and infrastructure alignment as the EMS program evolves toward a single platformTroubleshoot and resolve OSI system issues as they arise, minimizing impact to project timelinesProject & Program SupportLead day-to-day project execution for the IP Connectivity rollout, coordinating with client personnel, field crews, and contractor teamsManage workload distribution and scheduling across the Elevate Consultant teamCoordinate with Burns & McDonnell on PMO activities and the IP Connectivity substation scheduleTrack and communicate infrastructure readiness status as it relates to EMS cutover sequencingSupport increased point-to-point testing volumes driven by contractor and GE RTU testing activityEnsure OSI models and displays are built and validated in alignment with the GE-modeled station data introduced through the IP Connectivity scheduleStakeholder Coordination:Serve as the primary point of contact for the client's EMS Transmission teamFacilitate communication between OSI, GE, and internal client teams to ensure alignment on project requirements and timelinesProvide regular project status updates to client leadership and flag risks or schedule impacts proactivelyCoordinate with the infrastructure team to provide necessary inputs and reduce bottlenecks contributing to schedule delaysTeam Development:Mentor and support the two Elevate Consultants assigned to the engagementEnsure Elevate Consultants are properly onboarded, trained, and equipped to perform point-to-point checkouts on the OSI EMS systemFoster a collaborative team environment focused on quality, accountability, and professional growthAbout Us: Brooksource is an equal opportunity employer that does not discriminate on the basis of actual or perceived race, color, creed, religion, national origin, ancestry, citizenship status, age, sex or gender (including pregnancy, childbirth, lactation and related medical conditions), gender identity or gender expression, sexual orientation, marital status, military service and veteran status, physical or mental disability, protected medical condition as defined by applicable state or local law, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected by applicable federal, state, or local laws and ordinances.
