Shipping Clerk
POSITION SUMMARY:The Warehouse Personnel will fulfill and process orders, accept incoming shipments, and oversee the general organization of the warehouse.POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Maintains an accurate running inventoryRestocks supplies and inventory; places blanket and special orders as neededEnters purchase order data in the inventory control systemAccepts, verifies, inspects, and records all deliveries according to policyRecords, reports, and returns defective itemsProcesses invoices, supplying necessary data to accounting or other appropriate department for payment and recordkeepingMaintains the organization and cleanliness of the warehouse areaHandles complaints related to shipments; notifies supervisor of any shipping or receiving issuesTake initiative to complete all required training, stay current on new and updated employee information available through the Company's various platformsAll other duties assignedEDUCATION & EXPERIENCEHigh school diploma or equivalent preferredValid state motor vehicle operator's license for forklift truckKnowledge of warehouse operations preferredMust complete ongoing education and training offered on topics such as safety, job training requirements, employee informational documents, policy changes, etc...KNOWLEDGETeamworkOrganizationPlanningTime managementReporting skillsOperate forklift and other equipment safelyBasic computer skillsDocumentation ManagementSKILLS & ABILITIESProficient with inventory control systemsThorough understanding of warehouse policies and proceduresExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailExcellent interpersonal and customer serviceExcellent time management skillsWORK ENVIRONMENT:Exposed to work in manufacturing /machining area settings with exposure to oil, coolant, and metal residuesIntermittent exposure to sounds or noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortablePrimarily requires sitting but at times, requires long periods of standingAt times, work is completed in a manufacturing facility requiring appropriate protective equipment at all timesPHYSICAL DEMANDS:Lift and carry a maximum of 45 poundsSafely climb laddersWear protective eyewear and/or other protective gear correctlyPeriods of standing, sitting at a computer, walking, reaching, crouching, twisting, lifting and pushing
