The HIPPY (Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters) model is centered on recruiting, training, and developing individuals from the local community to serve as Home-Based Educators. HBEs work directly with families by providing home-based instructional support designed to strengthen school readiness and family engagement. The Home-Based Educator serves as an essential connection between families and the HIPPY program by supporting parents as their child's first teacher while ensuring program fidelity and compliance with all district, state, and program requirements. Qualifications and RequirementsDemonstrate maturity, professionalism, and understanding of the local communityBuild relationships and work comfortably with families in homes or designated locationsExhibit leadership potential with strong oral and written communication skillsDemonstrate basic computer proficiency and virtual communication skillsMeet credential requirements: Parapro Assessment and High School Diploma/GED (or approved Staff Qualifications Plan)Complete required professional development including COPA and 15 hours of Early Childhood PD annuallySubmit required documentation requested by ABC, WDMESC, and/or Beebe School DistrictAttend required trainings, workshops, conferences, and meetings Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesConduct weekly home visits or assigned meetings with participating familiesReview previous instructional activities and provide support to familiesTeach parents how to implement instructional activities and provide enrichment opportunitiesObtain and maintain student enrollment and program documentationParticipate in at least six required group meetings annuallyMeet weekly with the Field CoordinatorMaintain accurate records and update required data systems including COPAAssist with child evaluations and parent conferencesCommunicate concerns and barriers to the coordinatorRecruit and screen program participants Terms of EmploymentPosition Type: Classified Staff PositionContract Length: 160 DaysReports To: HIPPY Field CoordinatorSalary: Based upon district salary scheduleBenefits: Eligible according to district policy Additional Information This position is considered a paraprofessional-type position.
