Computer/Science Instructor

Beyond Education Consulting (BEEC) is looking for a talented Science and/or Computer Science tutor. We are a professional team of educators and college consultants who support students and families in achieving their academic goals. That support includes 1-on-1 academic tutoring and test preparation, which is where (we hope!) you come in. Even if you have not tutored students before, we would invite you to consider the opportunity below; we train our educators thoroughly and offer several forms of support to ensure your practice with students is one that you are comfortable with. Who We Are: Supportive: we train our tutors throughout their time with us and meet with each of them weekly to ensure that the job is one they enjoy and are successful with. Organized: we help manage your roster of students and ensure everyone is accounted for in terms of progress and goals. Resourceful: if students are in need of materials that you don’t possess or can’t find, we are happy to step in and help any way we can. What We Offer: Tutoring wages begin at $30 per hour with compensation for work done outside of tutoring (correspondence, student preparation, etc.) The potential for for full-time benefits when a tutor reaches a sufficient level of weekly hours (30+) Paid training to provide skills that are useful in nearly any professional setting Ongoing support to ensure that our work is something you are comfortably challenged by Opportunities to do more; if you feel you can take on additional academic subjects, we’re happy to explore them with you A convenient online format (utilizing Zoom) for tutoring that connects you to students with minimum hassle and a beautiful office venue for in-person work Flexibility in your work schedule; we are happy to accommodate tutors who have other jobs or obligations The protection of a 24-hour cancellation policy that respects your time and effort when trying to help students The chance to help students succeed beyond their greatest expectations and provide families with a feeling of support and confidence as they navigate academic challenges What We’re Seeking: Support for students in Science and/or Computer Science at all levels, including K-12 and AP (we may offer training if there are minor knowledge gaps or other concerns) A commitment to working with students for the 2022-23 academic year (i.e. until July of 2023 at least) A commitment to working with a minimum of ten students per week OR 15 hours of student meetings per week (this may take time to build up, to be clear) An understanding that your work hours will typically exist outside of school hours (afternoons, evenings, and weekends) Beyond Education Consulting (www.beecadvantage.com) is a full-spectrum support for students; we assist them with academic goals, test preparation, college and internship applications, and so on. We work with students around the world, but the majority of them are in North America and about 40% overall are here in California. We are based out of Danville and can be found at 4125 Blackhawk Plaza Circle in Suite 166. Even if you have no experience in education or little experience working with students, we are happy to consider your application. Many of our most successful tutors have work histories that don’t include teaching in any capacity, and we pursue enthusiasm just as much as experience when it comes to finding the strongest support for our clients.
