Safety Coordinator

JOB SUMMARY The Safety Coordinator provides the necessary planning, direction, training, and controls to meet safety goals as specified by OSHA, insurance carriers, and Diamond B Construction Company. Develops, implements, maintains and enforces company safety program.Conducts incident investigations and may conduct safety inspections and audits.JOB DESCRIPTION The Safety Coordinator provides the necessary planning, direction, training, and controls to meet safety goals as specified by OSHA, insurance carriers, and Diamond B Construction Company. The Safety Coordinator will develop, implement, maintain and enforce company safety program. The Safety Coordinator has the ability to lead the coordinated safety efforts of the company. Must be knowledgeable of ASHA, MSHA, DOT, EPA, DEQ, COE, Fire Marshall and other Federal, State, and Local Government health and safety work-related rules and regulations. The Safety Coordinator deals effectively with employees and governmental agencies. The Safety Coordinator has the authority to take any action that will make the physical facilities and job sites safe and free of recognized hazards. This can include shutting down a machine, or piece of equipment, if it is determined that its operation represents an unsafe condition, or hazard to the operator, other workers or the general public.QualificationsStrong knowledge in Health & Safety, Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), and Occupational Health principlesExperience in conducting Safety Training and implementing proactive safety measuresProficiency in Accident Investigation and identifying preventative measuresExcellent organizational, risk assessment, and problem-solving skillsAbility to communicate effectively and collaborate with diverse teamsFamiliarity with regulatory compliance standards and safety protocolsCertifications in relevant areas such as OSHA, CPR or similar safety standards (preferred)Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field is a plus
