Cashier/Customer Service

Job Overview We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Cashier/Customer Service Associate to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional service to customers, handle transactions accurately, and contribute to a positive shopping experience. This role is vital in maintaining efficient store operations and fostering customer loyalty through excellent communication and product knowledge. Duties Operate POS systems efficiently to process sales, returns, and exchanges Greet customers warmly and assist with their inquiries Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions with accuracy and integrity Upsell products and promote store promotions to enhance sales opportunities Conduct product demos when applicable to educate customers about features and benefits Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are well-presented Assist with inventory management including stock replenishment and inventory counts Provide excellent customer service by addressing concerns promptly and professionally Support in supervising team members when needed, including training new staff on cashier procedures Engage in basic retail math for transactions and sales reporting Skills Proficiency with POS systems and cash handling procedures Strong communication skills, including phone etiquette and active listening Ability to perform retail math accurately for sales and inventory management Experience in supervising or leading team members is a plus Bilingual abilities are preferred to serve diverse customer bases effectively Knowledge of grocery store operations, merchandising, and stock management is advantageous Demonstrated customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor Ability to upsell products tactfully while maintaining customer satisfaction Basic math skills for handling transactions, balancing registers, and sales calculations Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in merchandising and stocking tasks This position offers an engaging environment where teamwork, communication, and a passion for retail make a difference.
