Job Description: Conduct on-site loss control surveys and virtual consultations to evaluate operations, identify hazards, and recommend solutions that reduce risk and improve safetyCollaborate closely with insureds, underwriting, claims teams, and agents to provide expert guidance on potential loss sourcesDeliver training and prepare detailed reports to assist in underwriting decisionsComplete all required reports and documentation pertaining to account visitsVisit accounts' facilities in order to understand the operations, hazards/exposures, and determine the effectiveness of safety programsDetermine compliance and evaluate safety programs based on OSHA, NFPA, DOT, ANSI and other codesConduct agency visits to promote specific loss control servicesProvide loss control consulting services for written accountsConduct basic Industrial Hygiene and Health surveys, such as noise and ergonomic assessmentsAttend branch large loss meetings and other meetings requiring loss control expertiseDevelop, submit and discuss recommendations with customers to improve conditionsRequirements: Bachelor's degree, with a major in safety, science or engineering from an accredited university preferredContinuing education such as Associate in Loss Control Management (ALCM) and Associate in Risk Management (ARM) and certifications such as ASP, CSP, CIH or OHST preferredMinimum of 1 year in property/casualty loss control, conducting loss control surveys and performing some loss control consulting work on written accounts requiredProficient level of technical and professional skills/knowledge of the loss control/safety area for all types of surveys for all commercial lines and programsIn-depth knowledge of operational practices for industrial, construction, institutional, commercial, educational and habitational occupanciesGood understanding of commercial insurance coveragesGood organizational and time management skillsBasic training and presentation skillsGood communication skills, both oral and writtenExcellent customer service skillsExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsGood PC skills, with an emphasis on Microsoft Office SuiteBenefits: Generous 401(k) matchGraded profit sharingIncentive compensationA wide range of benefits to support your financial health, physical well-being and career developmentRemote and hybrid work optionsFlexible schedulingEmployee recognition programs designed to honor your contributionsContinuing education support with 100% tuition reimbursement for academic studiesProfessional development opportunities such as CPCU, AINS, CPA, CISSPLong-term career focus with an average employee tenure of 14 years
