The responsibilities and authority may vary as quality functions are delegated by the Director of Manufacturing or Quality Supervisor. Support Purchasing, Engineering, Manufacturing, Service and Sales through quality planning. Administrator of all quality activities for the Instrument Manufacturing Division.Position Responsibilities:Manage Certification Program to ISO 9001, plans and proceduresEnsure that all requirements of ISO 9001 are implemented and controlled.Authorize all documentation necessary to the efficient development and implementation of ISO 9001.Responsible for the monitoring and review of information concerning external and internal issues of risk and opportunities.Review, update, and authorize the LECO Corporate Quality Management PlanParticipate on the Material Review BoardCoordinate and/or teach quality classes (Basic Quality Skills, ESD, Internal Auditing)Maintain employee Quality training recordsIdentify quality goalsMonitor supplier quality rating (Supplier mail in audits) in conjunction with PurchasingReview and update Quality Inspection Department ManualReview and update Quality Calibration Procedure ManualSchedule and/or perform internal audits on departments within the scope of ISO 9001Assist or lead auditsPrepare and approve internal audit reportsPrepare, approve, issue, and monitor Supplier Corrective Actions and Internal Corrective ActionsPrepare Management Review Report for ManagementGenerate quality reports as instructed by ManagementEnter data on returned material, customer quality concerns and internal monitoring of tested unitsInvestigate, evaluate, process, and document Customer Quality ConcernsApprove RMA Report for key management reviewParticipate in the RMA meetingsMonitor Customer Satisfaction survey and generate reports for ManagementHave access to Oracle for data entry and inquiryAssure the quality of products within the area of responsibility. Stop production and take corrective action to correct any conditions that would contribute to sub-standard quality if it can be corrected in an expedient manner. If it cannot, the Director of Quality/Test will be notified for final dispositionPrepare SPC charts for various monitoring requirementsResponsible for the monitoring, investigation, and reporting of 10CFR Part 21 nonconformances reported to QualityPull nonconforming parts from stockMaintain area of responsibility to ISO 9001 requirementsApprove, update, and revise quality procedures, documents, and recordsAssist all employees and management on all ISO 9001 related issuesEnsure Quality support to all employees within LECOAssist with the implementation of ISO/17025 and ISO17034 where neededPosition Requirements:Minimum of 5-years' experience in the area of qualityHave knowledge of current quality control methods including statistical techniquesHave knowledge and understanding of current ISO requirementsPossess a working knowledge of corporate organizations, policies, and proceduresAbility to develop logical detailed plans aimed at upgrading quality levels and quality systemsGood working knowledge of LECO products, assembly processes, policies and proceduresPossess communication and people skillsEducation/Certifications:Recommended:Computer SkillsOracle trainingAudit trainingAccess Database skillsWord processing skillsExcel processing skillsESD trainingPreferred Qualifications:ASQ Certifications as Certified Quality Auditor, Quality Improvement Associate, or Quality Process AnalystAssociate degree
