This is a remote position, but candidates must live in Orange County or Los Angeles County, California, to support regional court appearances, client needs, and local case handling. Must be licensed to practice law in California, live in Orange County or Los Angeles County, and have at least 1 year of California workers' compensation defense experience. Manage California workers' compensation defense matters from assignment through resolution. Represent employers, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators in WCAB proceedings. Attend hearings, conferences, depositions, trials, and other workers' compensation litigation events. Draft pleadings, reports, settlement documents, correspondence, and case evaluations. Analyze claims, evaluate exposure, and help develop efficient defense strategies. Communicate with clients, claims professionals, opposing counsel, medical providers, and experts. Negotiate settlements and work toward practical, cost-effective outcomes. Use technology and strong organization to manage files efficiently in a remote environment. Active California Bar license in good standing. 1+ year of California workers' compensation defense experience required. Experience handling WCAB appearances, hearings, settlements, and file management preferred. Employer, carrier, or TPA defense experience strongly preferred. Strong writing, communication, organization, and client service skills. Ability to work independently in a remote role while staying responsive and deadline-oriented. Must currently live in Orange County or Los Angeles County, California. Remote flexibility with a respected California defense platform.
