Outside Business Development Representative
About the Role:We are seeking a driven and results-oriented Outside Business Development Representative to join our team. The primary focus of this role is to generate new business opportunities and grow revenue specifically within our Contract Manufacturing services. While the company offers additional capabilities, the sole objective of this position is to sell contract manufacturing solutions. This individual will spend the majority of their time in the field prospecting, meeting with potential customers, and building long-term relationships. This role is not a remote position. While not in the field, this individual will be expected to report to the office. Key ResponsibilitiesIdentify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities within the contract manufacturing market.Develop and maintain a strong sales pipeline through field prospecting, cold outreach, site visits, and relationship-building.Follow up on provided warm leads and convert them into active opportunities and new accounts.Continue to hunt and gather new business, targeting industries and customers that align with capabilities.Attend networking events, client meetings, and industry functions to expand market presence and strengthen relationships.Attend trade shows on occasion as needed for business development and brand exposure.Work closely with internal teams to ensure a smooth handoff from sales to operations and maintain customer satisfaction.Stay informed on market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity to position the company as a preferred contract manufacturing partner.Provide consistent communication and follow-through with prospects and clients to drive momentum and close new business.Submit weekly reports including KPI updates, pipeline activity, and progress toward sales goals.Qualifications3–5+ years of outside sales/business development experience with a proven track record of generating new accounts.Experience in machining, fabrication, manufacturing, industrial services, or related sectors is strongly preferred.Strong prospecting, negotiation, and relationship-building skills with confidence engaging decision-makers.Estimation knowledge preferred but not required.Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and capable of managing territory growth with minimal oversight.Ability to represent the company professionally at client events, networking functions, and trade shows.
