Chief Financial Officer

McGrew Management Company is seeking a hands-on, execution-driven Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to bring structure, discipline, and visibility to the financial operations of a multi-division equipment business, including auction, Bobcat and used equipment sales, rental, and logistics.This executive role is responsible for delivering accurate and timely financial reporting, strengthening cash management, building clear reporting and dashboards, and establishing accountability within the finance function. The CFO will partner closely with ownership and operational leadership to support decision-making and drive financial performance across all divisions.This is not a purely strategic role. This role is responsible for ensuring financial accuracy, operational visibility, and disciplined cash management while building scalable processes and a high-performing finance team.The position requires a balance of leadership and hands-on execution, with accountability for financial reporting, forecasting, internal controls, and decision support. The CFO plays a critical role in translating financial data into actionable insights that drive profitability, efficiency, and growth across all business units.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesFinancial Leadership & ReportingOwn all financial reporting, forecasting, and budgeting across divisionsDeliver accurate, clean financials early each month (non-negotiable)Develop and maintain rolling forecasts and cash flow modelsEnsure full visibility into company performance at all timesCash Management & ControlsBuild and maintain weekly and monthly cash flow forecastsEnforce disciplined AR/AP processes and cash management practicesImprove collections and manage payment timingImplement strong cash controls across all divisionsEnsure cash position is consistently known, monitored, and managedOperational Finance & Business PartnershipPartner with division leaders (Auction, Bobcat, Logistics) to support performanceIdentify cost inefficiencies and margin improvement opportunitiesDrive accountability through financial metrics and reportingSupport business decisions with data-driven insightsData, Reporting & Visibility Build and maintain dashboards for ownership and operational leadersProvide visibility into key performance drivers, including:Profitability by divisionInventory performanceRental utilizationService and operational metricsDeliver clear, actionable reporting to support leadership decisionsTeam Leadership & AccountabilityAssess and structure roles and responsibilities within the finance teamBuild a high-accountability environment with clear ownershipEstablish consistent workflows, processes, and expectationsImprove team performance while maintaining operational stabilitySystems & Process ImprovementImprove financial systems, reporting tools, and data accuracyPartner with leadership and IT to evaluate and streamline systemsStandardize financial processes across all locationsIncorporate modern tools and technology to improve efficiency and speedRisk, Compliance & Financial OversightOversee banking relationships, financing, and insuranceEnsure compliance with financial and tax regulationsMaintain strong internal controls and risk management practicesQualifications10+ years of progressive finance leadership experience (Controller → CFO preferred)Experience in multi-location, operationally complex businessesStrong understanding of inventory, service/repair, rental, and logistics operationsProven ability to build structure, improve processes, and lead teamsExperience implementing financial systems and reporting dashboardsHands-on, detail-oriented, and execution-focusedWhat Success Looks LikeFinancials are 100% accurate and delivered early each monthCash is forecasted, controlled, and never a surpriseAR/AP processes are disciplined and consistently executedLeadership has real-time, reliable data to run the businessFinance operates with structure, accountability, and efficiencyEssential Physical RequirementsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
