Staff Accountant

SHR Talent is partnering with an accounting services organization in Birmingham, AL in its search for a Staff Accountant to add to a growing team.This organization supports a growing portfolio of multi-site restaurant and hospitality concepts and is seeking an accounting professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The Staff Accountant will play a key role in the month-end close process, financial statement preparation, reconciliations, and ongoing client accounting support across multiple entities.The ideal candidate for the Staff Accountant opportunity will bring strong attention to detail, communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while working independently in a remote environment. The Staff Accountant is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow within a highly collaborative accounting team supporting well-known hospitality brands.Responsibilities:Assist with month-end close activities across multiple client entitiesReview and finalize financial statementsPrepare journal entries and account reconciliationsPerform bank reconciliations and troubleshoot discrepanciesMaintain accuracy and integrity of financial dataSupport financial reporting deadlines and close schedulesCommunicate with operations teams and internal stakeholders regarding financial questionsAssist with process improvement initiatives and workflow optimizationManage accounting responsibilities across multiple client locations simultaneouslyQualifications:3+ years of accounting experience, preferredExperience with month-end close activities, strongly preferredExposure to bank reconciliations, journal entries, and Accounts Payable processesMulti-entity or multi-location accounting experience highly transferableMicrosoft Dynamics and Great Plains experience, preferredStrong organizational and communication skillsAbility to thrive in a deadline-driven environmentSelf-starter capable of working independently in a remote setting
