Responsible for administering programs in exercise, general nutrition, stress management, and other preventive health measures to Members of Congress.RequirementsQualificationsYYou must meet the United States Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) qualification requirements (including specialized experience and/or educational requirements) for the advertised position. Specialized experience: is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Candidates for the GS-11 grade level must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower (GS-9) grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as having experience: (1) Providing activities to enhance the health, physical fitness and restorative needs of people, including Yoga, Pilates, and cardiovascular, strength and balance development; (2) Planning individual and group exercise programs that build cardiovascular endurance, neuromuscular strength and balance, flexibility, and other aspects of functional capacity attuned to the diverse interest, needs, and skill level of persons; and (3) Developing educational and/or service programs promoting preventive health practices, health risks awareness, recreation, and the like for people within a gym and/or wellness center (i.e. general nutrition, healthy weight reduction, stress management, etc.).The mission of the Architect of the Capitol (AOC) is to serve Congress and the Supreme Court, preserve America's Capitol and inspire memorable experiences.
