What you’ll do as a Solutions Engineer Manager, Associate Programs
As the Manager for Cloudflare’s Associate Engineer (ASE) Program, you aren't just managing a team; you are architecting the engine that powers our technical field organization. Your mission is to design, execute, and scale a world‑class development program that transforms early‑career talent into high‑performing technical consultants.
You are a curriculum builder and talent strategist first. You will lead a cohort of ASEs (Interns) through a rigorous, multi‑modal journey—blending deep technical networking knowledge with sharp commercial acumen. You will bridge the gap between "knowing the tech" and "solving the customer's business problem," ensuring our graduates are ready to hit the ground running in Solutions Engineering, Customer Success, and beyond. You will be the main decision maker on Interns that succeed into a full‑time role as well.
What You’ll Do
Program Architecture: Own the end‑to‑end ASE lifecycle, from onboarding and curriculum design to graduation into the field.
Pedagogical Leadership: Build hands‑on labs, certification paths, and competency‑based assessments that validate both technical depth (Cloud, Security, Workers) and soft skills (Discovery, Demoing, MEDDPICC).
Stakeholder Alignment: Act as the primary liaison between University Recruiting, Sales Leadership, and Global Enablement to ensure the program’s output aligns with the business’s hiring needs.
Coaching & Mentorship: Provide direct management to a cohort of ASEs, offering structured feedback, career pathing, and performance coaching.
Operational Excellence: Track and report on program KPIs, such as "Time to Productivity," graduation rates, and long‑term retention of program alumni.
Culture Catalyst: Instill Cloudflare’s values of curiosity and collaboration into our newest team members, setting the tone for their entire career.
Identify best capabilities and align ASEs accordingly by working with respective leaders (Solution Engineer roles, BDR roles, Customer Success, etc.).
Requirements: What You Bring
5+ years of experience in Technical Enablement, Program Management, or customer‑facing technical roles (SE, SA, or Professional Services).
Program Design Mastery: Proven track record of building and managing "Academy‑style" programs or large‑scale technical training initiatives.
Technical Fluency: 3+ years of experience with Internet protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, TLS), Cloud Security, or Edge Computing. You should be able to "talk shop" with engineers while teaching a beginner.
Instructional Mindset: You don't just know the material; you know how to teach it. You have experience creating structured learning paths and hands‑on lab environments.
Stakeholder Influence: Ability to navigate a complex global organization and gain buy‑in from senior Sales and Engineering leadership.
Leadership: 2+ years of experience managing teams or leading high‑impact cross‑functional projects.
Sales Literacy: Familiarity with modern sales methodologies (e.g., MEDDPICC, Command of the Message) and the ability to weave these into a technical curriculum.
