This individual is responsible for all aspects of physical therapy assistant service delivery provided under a physician approved plan of care and accountable for the safety and effectiveness of the physical therapy assistant service delivery process.ResponsibilitiesEssential Duties & Responsibilities of the Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)Develop and implement individualized therapy programs to restore, reinforce, and enhance patient performance.Identify the need for and make referrals to other healthcare disciplines as necessary to address the comprehensive needs of the patient.Instruct, educate, and train patients and caregivers in skills and functions essential for promoting patient independence, improving quality of life, and diminishing or correcting pathology.Supervise Physical Therapist Assistants, provisional licensees, students, and support personnel in accordance with state licensure requirements and professional standards.Develop personalized care plans using a variety of treatment techniques.Provide quality, personalized, and evidence-based care using proven interventions.Promote clients’ healthy lifestyles by improving their strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination.Continuously evaluate patient progress, monitor outcomes, and communicate updates effectively with the interdisciplinary teamQualificationsRequirements of Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA):Associate's degree from a CAPTE-accredited program Active state Physical Therapy license in good standingCurrent CPRAt least one (1) year experience working in a Skilled Nursing Facility preferredAbility to manage multiple projects, tasks, and priorities at onceAbility to maintain the confidentiality and integrity of the positionExcellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamCommitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care
