SAASAbout the RoleThe Company is in search of a distinguished leader to serve as the Chair of the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB). The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team dedicated to the development of high-quality accounting and financial reporting standards for U.S. state and local governments. This senior and highly visible role requires a strong working knowledge of current GASB standards, distinguished technical governmental accounting expertise, leadership ability, strong communication skills, and experience in collaborating with diverse stakeholders. The Chair will act as the principal public spokesperson for the GASB, lead the strategic direction of the Board, and ensure that the concerns of stakeholders are heard and considered.Candidates for the Chair position must demonstrate experience at a senior level in national state and local government financial accounting and reporting issues, or in related fields such as public accounting, investment leadership, or executive roles in recognized government or municipal market organizations. A strong technical understanding of U.S. generally accepted accounting principles for state and local governments is essential, with a CPA being highly desirable. The role also requires experience or a strong interest in standard setting or financial regulatory matters, and a proven track record in building strong relationships with regulatory bodies. The ideal candidate will have a commitment to the GASB's mission, demonstrated thought leadership, and the ability to attract and retain top talent.Travel Percent
