Position:Career CounselorLocation:Milford High SchoolSchedule:2026-2027 School YearSalary:Per Teachers' ContractTo Start:August 24, 2026 + New Faculty Orientation on August 18-19, 2026Qualifications:Master's degree in School Counseling or a related field requiredMassachusetts licensure as a School Counselor or Vocational Technical Coordinator requiredAt least three years of successful counseling, teaching, or leadership at the high school levelExperience in career development, high school counseling, or workforce coordinationFamiliarity with MyCAP implementationStrong knowledge of career development, college admissions, workforce development, and post-secondary transition planningExcellent organizational, interpersonal, presentation, and written/oral communication skillsAbility to work independently, manage multiple projects, and coordinate large-scale eventsDemonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with students, staff, families, and community partnersBilingual skills in Spanish and/or Portuguese, highly desirableResponsibilities:Provide individualized career pathway planning and counseling for studentsAssist students with job and internship searches, resume and cover letter writing, interview preparation, and employment readinessDesign and deliver workshops, classroom lessons, and events related to post-secondary planning (e.g., resume workshops, financial aid sessions, career exploration)Manage internships and work-based learning programs, including screening, placement support, employer communication, and progress monitoringMaintain and expand employer partnerships with local businesses, trade organizations, and workforce development agencies (e.g., MassHire, YouthWorks)Plan, organize, and supervise major career-readiness events, including annual job fairs and visits to employer-partnersSupport Career Development Education (CDE), MyCAP, and career pathway initiatives aligned with DESE and MEFA Pathways frameworksCollaborate with school counselors, special education staff, the transition coordinator, and administrators to integrate career development into schoolwide practiceProvide professional development to school counseling staff on career planning topicsCommunicate with caregivers and community stakeholders regarding students' post-secondary readinessPerform any other duties as designated by the administrator
