KYLE FIXED SITE Phlebotomy Technician I

Adhere to established quality practices while continually seeking to improve work performance and expand knowledge.ResponsibilitiesReport to work according to department schedule and comply with organizational timekeeping policy.Maintain the donation site and equipment according to SOPs, including:Assembly and disassemblyDaily quality control proceduresRoutine/preventive maintenanceHousekeeping proceduresProcess and accurately document allogeneic whole blood donations according to SOPs, including:Donor registrationMedical history interviewsVital signs (pulse, blood pressure, hematocrit, and temperature)PhlebotomyRespond to donor reactions according to SOPs by identifying and treating symptoms, monitoring vital signs (pulse and blood pressure), and documenting the reaction accurately.Review electronic and/or hard copy documentation, as appropriate, according to SOPs.Meet and exceed employee program expectations of AMO CommYOUnity! standards, including: Rewards & Recognition, Communication, Individuality, Integrity, Respect, and Pursuit of Excellence.Execute special projects and other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Operations Manager.Skills, Education, & ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent required.Effective communication skills required.Compassionate interpersonal skills.Excellent customer service skills.Basic computer skills.Punctual and dependable.Phlebotomy and/or vital signs experience preferred; certification as a phlebotomist, medical assistant, EMT, paramedic, or LVN is a plus.Physical/Mental AbilitiesAbility to regularly work scheduled shifts at any of our locations and mobile sites as determined by business needs is required.Ability to interpret and respond appropriately to sensitive and confidential information and situations.Ability to maintain focus and make sound judgments in a busy and/or distracting environment.Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining a high level of accuracy.Ability to read and follow SOPs and maintain complete and accurate records.Ability to work well in a team environment.Ability to work a flexible schedule, including Saturday and/or Sunday as needed.Good manual dexterity.Ability to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds unassisted.Ability to stand for long periods of time.Donor Room HoursOpen: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, SundayClosed: Wednesday, Saturday
