Network Test Engineer - Juniper

We are seeking a mid‑to‑senior level SSR Network Test Engineer to support a classified Department of Defense (DoD) program. The ideal candidate is a seasoned Network Engineer with hands‑on expertise in Session Smart Router (SSR) platforms, WAN architecture, and structured network testing methodologies. This role is focused on validating WAN performance, resiliency, and functionality within secure government environments.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, execute, and maintain WAN and SSR-specific test plans in a classified environmentPerform WAN performance testing, fault isolation, validation, and troubleshootingTest and evaluate Session Smart Router (Juniper SSR) or equivalent SD‑WAN / WAN edge platformsValidate network behavior under normal, degraded, and failure scenariosDocument test procedures, results, findings, and recommendationsCollaborate with network engineering, architecture, and operations teamsSupport continuous improvement of WAN and SSR testing methodologiesContribute to Ansible-based automation efforts, as applicableRequired Qualifications7+ years of professional experience in network engineeringDemonstrated hands‑on experience with SSR (Session Smart Router / Juniper SSR) or equivalent SD‑WAN / WAN edge technologiesProven WAN testing experience, including performance validation and fault isolationAbility to develop and execute structured network test plansStrong understanding of WAN architectures and routing fundamentalsActive Secret clearanceAbility to work onsite at one of the designated locationsPreferred QualificationsExperience supporting DoD or classified environmentsExposure to Ansible or other network automation toolsFamiliarity with formal test methodologies and validation frameworksExperience operating in mission‑critical, high‑availability networks
