Per Diem Clinical Assistant / Radiologic Technologist (Hybrid Role)

Are you a Radiologic Technologist who enjoys variety, patient interaction, and being part of a close-knit orthopedic team? We’re looking for a per diem Clinical Assistant / Radiologic Technologist to support our Brunswick clinic 1–2 days per week. This hybrid role is perfect for someone who enjoys both hands-on clinical care and diagnostic imaging in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment.
In this role, you’ll work side by side with our orthopedic providers, supporting patient flow from intake through imaging, while delivering compassionate, high-quality care at every step.
Position Summary
This hybrid position supports optimal patient care by combining clinical assistant responsibilities with radiologic technologist duties. The role includes patient rooming and intake, assisting providers with clinical procedures, and performing high-quality diagnostic imaging to support orthopedic diagnosis and treatment.
What You’ll Do
Clinical Assistant Responsibilities
Greet patients warmly in person or by phone and ensure a positive patient experience
Room patients and prepare them for visits by gathering medical history and confirming visit details
Perform preliminary clinical assessments (vital signs, patient history, documentation)
Assist providers with patient care, including casting, injections, and other clinical procedures as assigned
Educate patients on provider instructions, medications, and follow-up care
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)
Uphold infection control, HIPAA, and safety standards at all times
Radiologic Technologist Responsibilities
Position and transport patients safely and comfortably for imaging
Perform high-quality orthopedic x-rays in a digital, filmless environment
Ensure proper patient identification, image quality, and documentation
Protect patients, staff, and self from unnecessary radiation exposure
Log all imaging procedures accurately in the electronic medical record

Qualifications
Degree in Radiography from an accredited program
ARRT Certification and active Maine State RT license required
Current BLS certification
Orthopedic imaging experience preferred
Strong clinical, organizational, and time-management skills
Excellent communication, customer service, and computer skills
Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment
