Job Overview
Position Description: The Integrated Research and Analytics Platform (IRAP) is a cloud-based Data and Analytics platform that provides seamless data management and analytics experience that allows Board researchers the ability to search data catalogs, access data, and collaborate with others.
The candidate shall also demonstrate the below knowledge and experience: Look for 8-10 years of Experience
· 5 years’ experience designing, building, and maintaining Cloud infrastructure in AWS.
· 7 years' experience performing system administration activities including patching, upgrading, and maintenance Windows and Linux servers.
· 3 years' experience building AWS Infrastructure using Terraform.
· 5 years' experience using Agile software development methodologies.
· 3 years' experience building CI/CD pipelines, preferably using Azure DevOps or Gitlab.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to effectively interact with stakeholders of varying levels of technology acumen.
· Knowledge of FISMA security review and ATO process
· Experience acquiring in-depth understanding of large complex software systems to isolate defects, reproduce defects, assess risk, and understand varied customer deployments.
Duties
Duties and Responsibilities:
Design and Build Cloud Infrastructure:
Architect, design, and deploy scalable, secure, and efficient cloud infrastructure solutions on AWS to support the Integrated Research and Analytics Platform (IRAP).
Use Terraform for infrastructure as code (IaC) to automate the provisioning and management of AWS resources, ensuring consistency and repeatability in deployments.
Cloud Infrastructure Maintenance and Administration:
Manage and maintain AWS cloud environments, including resource optimization, cost management, and security compliance.
Perform regular system administration tasks on both Windows and Linux servers, including patch management, software upgrades, and routine maintenance.
CI/CD Pipeline Development:
Develop, configure, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline software deployments, improve release processes, and enhance collaboration among teams.
Use tools like Azure DevOps or GitLab to automate the building, testing, and deployment of applications.
Agile Methodology Implementation:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams using Agile methodologies to deliver high-quality software solutions, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
Participate in Agile ceremonies like daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives to foster continuous improvement.
System Security and Compliance:
Ensure compliance with FISMA (Federal Information Security Management Act) by following security best practices and preparing documentation for the Authority to Operate (ATO) process.
Implement security controls and risk management strategies to maintain a secure cloud environment.
Stakeholder Collaboration and Communication:
Serve as a technical liaison between various stakeholders, including researchers, developers, and IT teams, to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Provide technical support and guidance to stakeholders, ensuring smooth integration and operation of the data and analytics platform.
System Analysis and Troubleshooting:
Conduct in-depth analysis of complex software systems to identify and isolate defects, reproduce issues, and recommend solutions.
Evaluate risks associated with new releases, updates, and infrastructure changes to maintain platform stability.
Continuous Improvement and Best Practices:
Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in cloud computing, DevOps, and data analytics to drive innovation within the platform.
Identify opportunities for process automation and infrastructure optimization to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs.
