Job Title: Lab TechnicianJob DescriptionThe Lab Technician supports high-volume testing operations in a fast-paced, production-style laboratory. You will set up and run buffer tests, operate devices under controlled conditions, and follow detailed standard operating procedures to execute repeatable tests with high accuracy and consistency. This role involves extensive documentation, inspection of parts, and ongoing collaboration with cross-functional teams to support product development, validation activities, and clinical applications.ResponsibilitiesSet up and execute buffer tests and other wet lab experiments under controlled laboratory conditions.Follow detailed standard operating procedures (SOPs) to perform repeatable, high-throughput tests with a strong focus on accuracy and consistency.Perform wet lab testing, such as drift and linearity testing, across a wide range of test methods.Prepare buffer solutions and maintain controlled testing environments to ensure reliable and reproducible results.Conduct visual inspection and imaging of components, ensuring daily output meets statistical testing and quality requirements.Document all test setups, procedures, observations, and results in a clear and traceable manner.Maintain laboratory equipment, glassware, and supplies in good working order, including routine checks and basic troubleshooting.Support data entry and traceability efforts, including working with large datasets and structured data systems.Adhere strictly to laboratory safety practices and GMP/ISO expectations while maintaining a quality-first mindset.Collaborate with engineers, scientists, and cross-functional partners in R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, and Engineering to support validation and qualification testing.Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes by providing feedback on procedures and workflows.Meet daily throughput expectations in a production-style lab while maintaining high standards of precision and compliance.Essential SkillsHands-on wet lab experience in a structured, real-world laboratory environment; long-term internship experience may be considered.Proficiency with wet chemistry techniques, including buffer preparation and solution handling in controlled testing environments.Strong lab fundamentals, including proper use of glassware, accurate measurement, and solution preparation with high precision and consistency.Demonstrated ability to follow detailed SOPs and work in a highly process-driven environment.Solid understanding of laboratory safety practices and a strong safety mindset.Experience performing drift or linearity testing.Experience supporting validation or qualification testing in a laboratory or production-style setting.High-throughput lab or production-style lab experience with repeatable, high-volume testing.Visual inspection and imaging experience for components or test articles.Experience working with large datasets or structured data entry systems.Exposure to regulated environments such as GMP and ISO-compliant labs.Basic proficiency with Excel and Microsoft Office applications.Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality control and accuracy.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in a high-volume, industry laboratory environment, ideally supporting medical device or biotech applications.Familiarity with quality control principles in a testing or manufacturing context.Comfort working with approximately 100 different testing procedures in a structured workflow.Interest in gaining broader exposure to product development and clinical application testing.Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional team setting.Motivation to build a long-term career path in medical device, biotechnology, or related regulated industries.Work EnvironmentThis position is based in a high-mix, high-volume testing laboratory operating Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. You will work within a team of approximately 29 professionals in a collaborative, cross-functional environment with regular interaction with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, and Engineering teams. The lab is fast-paced and highly process-driven, with around 100 defined testing procedures and a structured daily workflow that emphasizes consistency and throughput. The culture is quality-first, with a strong emphasis on accuracy, traceability, and adherence to regulated practices such as GMP and ISO standards. You will use standard wet lab equipment, glassware, measurement tools, and computer systems, including Excel and Microsoft Office, as part of your daily work.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of San Diego, CA.Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.RequirementsEligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
