The At-Risk Credit Recovery teacher will also provide students with a comprehensive, coordinated, integrated, and customized program in the credit recovery lab that is accessible, timely, and standards-based. By doing so, the At-Risk Credit Recovery teacher will reduce the drop-out rate and increase graduation rates of "at risk" students.All employees of Spring ISD are expected to act with integrity, support organizational goals,communicate in a clear and respectful manner, championing the needs of our students and drive continuous improvement.QUALIFICATIONS:Required:* Bachelor's degree from an accredited College or University* Valid Texas Teacher Certificate with required endorsements or required training for subjectand level assigned* One-year job related experiencePreferred:* Three years of classroom experience* Experience using the Edgenuity programSPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:Thorough understanding of state and federal accountabilityComprehensive knowledge of state assessmentsKnowledge of the district's curriculumKnowledge of the district's credit recovery system (Edgenuity)Detail oriented and able to handle deadline pressuresExceptional interpersonal and communication skillsQuality oral presentations and written reportsMAJOR REPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:Teach seven sections of in-school credit recovery classes (currently utilizing Edgenuity)Manage Grade Repair by setting up students in the designated course(s), unlocking assessments within the program (Edgenuity), and notifying counselors and registrars of satisfactory Grade Repair course completionDevelop individual student goalsMonitor the students' course/goal progress to ensure continuous growth and achievementConduct progress conferences with studentsSupport and supplement students' online learningIdentify and coordinate additional academic resources for students in the credit recovery programDevelop, write, and update Student Success PlansEnsure Student Success Plans are provided to all identified credit recovery studentsCollaborate and provide regular updates to counselors, teachers, campus interventionists, Student Support Specialists, Student Success Specialists, and administrators to address the needs of students in the programParticipate and serve as a program liaison with the Collaborative Student Support Team (CSS Team) as neededCoordinate the in-school credit recovery program's activities and functionsMaintain regular contact with parents/guardians regarding student progressManage program (Edgenuity) data management system and engage in program data analysisDocument all required interactions and data for At-Risk coding compliance and program evaluationEngage in Professional Learning Community (PLC) collaborative sessions and additional trainings with other credit recovery teachers order to better use the credit recovery system and ensure the students' academic successOversee all administrative paperwork and referrals for the in school credit recovery programProduce and analyze (Edgenuity) program reports to submit to the District RtI CoordinatorHandle all confidential matters appropriatelyAll other duties as assignedWORKING CONDITIONS:The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: physical mobility, standing, prolonged sitting, some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling. This position will also require both traveling within the district and state wide.
