Job Title: Senior Systems EngineerJob Location: Oro Valley, AZ 85755, United StatesJob Duration: Contract position 1 year with possible extensionRole OverviewThis role is for a hands-on Senior Systems Engineer who will support product development, specifically focusing on on-market products (products already released and in use).The candidate will work with electro-mechanical systems and play a key role in improving product performance, solving issues, and ensuring product quality.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the design and development of new components, products, or processesAnalyze data, draw conclusions, and implement improvementsPlan and execute experiments (including Design of Experiments - DOE)Develop and run verification & validation (V&V) testing strategiesTroubleshoot product issues and identify root causesImprove processes and documentation based on findingsCollaborate with cross-functional teams and lead technical discussionsPresent findings and project updates to internal/external stakeholdersIdentify technical risks and provide solutions and directionRequired Skills & ExpertiseStrong understanding of engineering fundamentals and problem-solvingExperience with electro-mechanical devicesExpertise in Verification & Validation (V&V) testingKnowledge of:Requirements engineeringRisk management techniques (e.g., FMEA – Failure Modes & Effects Analysis)Strong root cause analysis and structured problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and think creativelyPreferred/Bonus SkillsFamiliarity with industry standards and frameworks such as:IEC 61010AAMIISO 13485SAFe AgileINCOSE certification (a plus)Education & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Engineering (Systems, Biomedical, Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical) + 8 years of experienceORMaster’s degree in Engineering + 4 years of experience
