As an innovative real estate owner at the forefront of the healthcare industry, the firm is committed to disciplined capital deployment, operational excellence, and long-term value creation for shareholders, customers, and employees.Position ResponsibilitiesThe Vice President – Operational Accounting is a senior finance leader responsible for overseeing the accounting, financial reporting, and operational integration for a large-scale Senior Housing operating portfolio within a publicly traded REIT environment.This role provides strategic oversight of financial reporting processes, joint venture partnerships, and operator relationships, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting in accordance with GAAP, SEC, and SOX requirements. The VP partners closely with Asset Management, FP&A, Investments, and executive leadership to deliver actionable insights, drive process transformation, and support long-term value creation across the portfolio.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESLeadership & StrategyLead and develop a high-performing Operational Accounting team supporting a complex senior housing portfolioEstablish and execute strategic priorities aligned with enterprise goals, including process optimization, automation, and scalabilityDrive continuous improvement and standardization across accounting processes, systems, and controlsFinancial Reporting & Public Company ComplianceOversee the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting for operating properties and joint venturesEnsure compliance with SEC reporting requirements, including Form 10-Q and 10-K disclosuresMaintain and enhance internal controls in compliance with SOX requirementsPortfolio Oversight & AnalysisProvide executive-level oversight of: Balance sheet and income statement variance analysisCash flow and distribution analysisCapital expenditure reporting and forecastingKey operating metrics (occupancy, margins, RevPOR)Partner with Asset Management to analyze property-level performance and optimize portfolio outcomesDeliver insights and recommendations to improve operational and financial performanceOperator & Joint Venture ManagementOversee relationships with third-party operators to ensure timely, accurate, and complete financial reportingReview operator financials and reconciliations, ensuring alignment with REIT reporting requirementsLead preparation and presentation of financial packages to JV partners and stakeholdersSupport structuring, onboarding, and integration of new investments and partnershipsPosition RequirementsBS degree with Accounting emphasisPrevious public company experiencePrevious experience in real estate or healthcare preferredExpert level Excel capabilitiesDetail oriented with good written and oral communication skillsAbility to successfully manage multiple tasksDeadline and project orientedBase Salary (based upon, and subject to, candidate experience): $200,000 - $250,000 (plus generous cash and equity incentives)
