Job TitleElectronics EngineerLocationWashington, DC 20375 US (Primary)Job TypeFull-TimeEducationBachelor's DegreeHow much will you travel if the job requires it?0 - 25%Minimum Security Clearance RequiredTSJob DescriptionEnvisioneering, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Electronics Engineer to join our team developing advanced power distribution and control subsystems for military test assets in support of services provided to the Department of the Navy and to the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory (NRL).This role involves designing, analyzing, and integrating electronic systems that meet stringent performance, reliability, and environmental requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience in power electronics, control systems, and embedded hardware/software integration.SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:Design and develop power distribution systems, control circuits, and electronic subsystems for military test platforms.Perform circuit analysis, simulation, and validation for high-reliability environments.Create and maintain schematics, PCB layouts, and wiring diagrams.Collaborate with cross-functional teams on system integration, testing, and troubleshooting.Ensure compliance with military standards (e.g., MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-810).Support prototype development, qualification testing, and documentation.Conduct failure analysis and implement design improvements for ruggedized systems.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Occasionally lift/carry test articles or devices up to 35 lbs. Sitting at test benches or standing during laboratory testing.Job RequirementsMINIMUM SKILLS/ QUALIFICATIONS:DoD Top Secret Clearance that is active or was active within the 24 months prior to date of hire.Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field. Grade point average: 3.0 minimum; 3.3 is desired.5+ years of experience in power electronics and control systems design.Strong knowledge of analog and digital circuit design, power conversion, and EMI/EMC considerations.Familiarity with military specifications and environmental requirements.Preferred Skills & Tools:Software Applications:Circuit Design & Simulation:Altium Designer, OrCAD, Cadence Allegro, Mentor GraphicsLTspice, PSIM, PSpiceModeling & Analysis:MATLAB/Simulink for control system modeling and simulationEmbedded Development:C/C++, Python, LabVIEW for hardware interfacing and automationDocumentation & Compliance:Microsoft Visio, MS Office SuiteExperience with FPGA programming (VHDL/Verilog) is a plus.Knowledge of thermal management, signal integrity, and ruggedized design.SOFT SKILLS:Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.Excellent communication and documentation abilities.EDUCATION:Bachelor of Science (BS) degree or higher in Electrical / Electronics Engineering or related field from an accredited university.
