Hardware Test Engineer – Junior Level
*Position Overview:*
We are seeking a hands-on *Hardware Test Technician / Hardware Test Engineer* to support the testing, troubleshooting, integration, and validation of electronic and hardware systems. The ideal candidate has at least two years of experience working directly with hardware in a laboratory, manufacturing, engineering, or test environment and is comfortable using basic Linux commands and tools.This is a highly hands-on position for someone who enjoys *building, testing, troubleshooting, and figuring out why hardware isn't working as expected*. The successful candidate will work closely with engineers to execute test procedures, collect and analyze test data, troubleshoot hardware issues, and document results.
*Responsibilities:*
* Set up, configure, and test electronic hardware, assemblies, and prototype systems.
* Execute hardware and system-level test procedures and document test results.
* Troubleshoot hardware, electrical, and system-level issues using established procedures and test equipment.
* Use basic Linux command-line tools to configure systems, run test applications/scripts, review logs, and troubleshoot issues.
* Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, block diagrams, and system drawings.
* Use common laboratory test equipment such as:
* Digital multimeters (DMM)
* Oscilloscopes
* Power supplies
* Signal generators
* Electronic loads
* Network/test equipment
* Perform cable, connector, continuity, power, signal, and functional testing.
* Assist engineers with hardware integration and system bring-up.
* Identify, isolate, and document hardware failures and anomalies.
* Record test data and maintain accurate test documentation.
* Assist with prototype assembly, modification, and rework as needed.
* Support troubleshooting of communication interfaces, power systems, embedded hardware, and electronic components.
* Follow established test procedures, safety requirements, and configuration-control processes.
* Communicate test results and technical issues clearly to engineering teams.
* Work directly with software developers, system engineers, and technical leads to coordinate testing and integration activities.
* Support additional hardware integration, testing, and field-testing activities as required.
*Required Qualifications*
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field *OR equivalent hands-on technical experience*.
* *Minimum of 2 years of hands-on hardware testing, electronics testing, hardware integration, or related experience.*
* Experience testing electronic or electromechanical hardware.
* Basic Linux experience, including familiarity with the command line, file systems, processes, logs, and basic troubleshooting.
* Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and system/block diagrams.
* Experience using basic electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, or signal generators.
* Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to follow detailed test procedures while recognizing and investigating unexpected results.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately document test results.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, hands-on engineering environment.
* Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance, if required.
*Preferred Qualifications*
* Experience testing RF, communications, embedded, aerospace, defense, or mission-critical hardware.
* Experience with hardware/software integration and system bring-up.
* Experience troubleshooting embedded systems.
* Familiarity with serial interfaces such as UART, RS-232/422/485, SPI, or I2C.
* Familiarity with Ethernet and TCP/IP networking.
* Experience using Linux-based test systems.
* Basic scripting experience in Bash or Python.
* Experience with Git or other version-control systems.
* Experience with automated test equipment or hardware test automation.
* Experience working with prototype or low-volume production hardware.
* Soldering, cable assembly, connectorization, or basic electronics rework experience.
* Previous experience supporting DoD, aerospace, or government programs.

Pay: $86,000.00 - $88,000.00 per year
