Human Resources Manager – Payroll & Benefits FocusOur client, a mission-driven organization in the Portland metro area, is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead and support HR operations with a strong emphasis on payroll, benefits administration, and employee relations. This is a highly impactful role that will partner closely with executive leadership to stabilize and strengthen core HR functions while supporting a growing and values-driven workforce. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys being hands-on in HR operations while also contributing strategically to organizational effectiveness and employee experience.If you’re someone who thrives in a hands-on HR environment and enjoys building structure, improving processes, and supporting employees in a meaningful way, I’d love to connect with you!Location: Hillsboro, OR (Fully Onsite)Type: Contract-to-HirePay Range: $36.00 – 40.86/hr., DOEWhat You’ll Be Doing:Lead day-to-day HR operations, including employee relations, compliance, and performance managementOversee and process payroll (semi-monthly) for ~130 employees, ensuring accuracy and timelinessManage benefits administration, including open enrollment, new hire enrollment, and employee supportServe as a trusted partner to leadership on HR strategy, policy development, and workforce planningEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulationsSupport and enhance HRIS systems, reporting, and data integrityLead initiatives related to training, performance management, and organizational developmentProvide guidance on employee relations matters, including investigations and conflict resolutionPartner cross-functionally to support recruiting, onboarding, and retention strategiesMaintain accurate HR documentation and support audits, licensing, and compliance requirementsWhat We’re Looking For:5+ years of strong experience in progressive human resources is required,Hands-on experience with payroll processing (Paychex highly preferred; ADP acceptable)Experience managing benefits programs and open enrollment processesSolid understanding of employment laws, HR best practices, and compliance requirementsProven ability to balance strategic thinking with day-to-day executionStrong communication, organization, and problem-solving skillsAbility to work onsite in Hillsboro with occasional local travel (company vehicle provided)Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferredWhy This Role:Opportunity to step into a high-impact, visible HR leadership rolePartner directly with executive leadership and influence organizational strategyHelp build and shape HR infrastructure, with future opportunity to grow and lead a teamJoin a mission-driven organization focused on meaningful community impact**We are unable to accommodate corp. to corp. candidates**About Motus Recruiting and Staffing, Inc:Founded in 2006, Motus is an award-winning recruiting and staffing firm in the Pacific Northwest, specializing in professional services and technology solutions.
