Pipe Foreman

Job Summary The Foreman directly supervises and coordinates the activities of field employees in site construction. Area of concentration will be oversight, direction and facilitation of underground utilities for site development. Essential Functions Supervises pipe crew members to ensure tasks are safely and productively completed in a timely manner while excavating and trenching. Responsible for the proper installation of pipelines and other utilities. Ensures pipe and fittings are installed in the proper manner as specified. Prioritize, schedule and communicate plans and tasks to crew members. Monitors work performance and productivity of crew members to ensure procedures, safety requirements are maintained. Advises superintendents of potential problems, work interferences, schedule difficulties, etc. and assists in resolving such problems. Maintains a positive relationship and leadership with crew to support construction schedule. Performs related work as assigned. Requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, sitting and climbing for extended periods of time. Ability to wear PPE (Personal protective equipment) Must frequently lift or move items 50 pounds or more. Ability to work and walk on uneven terrain. Required Education and Experience Three years’ experience in large earthmoving and utility projects including sanitary, storm, and waterline installation. Familiarity with OSHA, DEP, and other governing body regulations. Valid driver’s license. Preferred Education and Experience Degree or certificate in a related field. OSHA 10 or 30 hour certification.
