Position OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchaser to join our team within the construction subcontracting industry. This role is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials, equipment, and services required to support project execution. The ideal candidate will bring prior purchasing experience within the construction or manufacturing sectors and possess strong organizational and negotiation skills.Key ResponsibilitiesSource and procure materials, tools, and equipment in alignment with project specifications and timelinesDevelop and maintain relationships with suppliers, vendors, and manufacturersNegotiate pricing, contracts, and delivery terms to achieve cost savings and ensure timely deliveryCollaborate with project managers, estimators, and field teams to forecast material needsMonitor inventory levels and coordinate with internal teams to avoid shortages or overstockingEvaluate supplier performance and identify opportunities for improvement or cost reductionEnsure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and contractual obligationsTrack and document purchases, maintain accurate records, and prepare reports as neededResolve issues related to delays, quality concerns, or discrepancies with ordersQualificationsPrevious experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management within construction or manufacturing industriesStrong understanding of construction materials, equipment, and supply chain processesProven negotiation and vendor management skillsAbility to read and interpret project plans, specifications, and purchase ordersExcellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilitiesProficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel)Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentPreferred QualificationsAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Construction Management, or a related fieldExperience working with subcontractors or within project-based environmentsFamiliarity with ERP systems or construction management softwareWork EnvironmentThis position operates primarily in an office setting with occasional interaction with job sites, vendors, and warehouses.
