Estimator

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Estimator to support preconstruction efforts across utility, infrastructure, and civil construction projects. This individual will play a key role in developing accurate, competitive bids for complex work including underground utilities, data centers, and municipal infrastructure.This is not a plug-and-play estimating position. We're looking for someone who understands the work, can identify risk before it becomes an issue, and develops estimates that position projects for success.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare detailed cost estimates for heavy civil and utility construction projects.Review and analyze plans, specifications, and bid documents.Perform quantity takeoffs and develop pricing for labor, materials, and equipment.Solicit, review, and compare subcontractor and supplier quotations.Identify project risks, scope gaps, and cost-saving opportunities within bid packages.Collaborate with project managers and leadership to develop winning bid strategies.Support value engineering initiatives and overall cost optimization.QualificationsMinimum of 5 years of estimating experience within heavy civil or utility construction.Strong knowledge of underground utility construction, including wet utilities, electrical, and telecommunications infrastructure.Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications.Experience using estimating software and digital takeoff tools.Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple estimates simultaneously.
