This position is ideal for highly skilled welders with extensive experience in shipbuilding, power plant construction, bridge construction, or large-scale commercial construction environments. If you are a seasoned welder with strong technical knowledge and a commitment to safety and quality, we want to hear from you!Position Overview:As a Journeyman Welder with an active clearance, this role requires in-depth knowledge of welding procedures, blueprint interpretation, and strict adherence to safety standards. You will work with multiple welding processes, including SMAW, FCAW, and GTAW, ensuring all welds meet applicable codes, specifications, and quality requirements.Key Responsibilities:Perform welding tasks in heavy industrial environments such as shipbuilding, power plants, bridge construction, and commercial construction sitesUtilize proper welding techniques and procedures to produce high-quality weldsRead and interpret blueprints, layouts, and welding symbols accuratelySet up and operate grinding containments and welding equipment safelyPerform welding using SMAW, FCAW (automatic), and GTAW processesFollow OSHA safety regulations and site-specific safety requirementsMaintain accurate documentation related to welding activities and inspectionsWork efficiently while maintaining high standards of craftsmanship and safetyQualifications & Experience:Minimum six (6) years of verifiable welding experience in heavy industrial applicationsProven experience in shipbuilding, power plant construction, bridge construction, or commercial building constructionProficient in Submerged Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Flux-Core Automatic Welding (FCAW), and Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW)Strong knowledge of welding best practices and quality control standardsSkilled in blueprint reading, layout procedures, and welding symbol interpretationExperience with grinding containments and related equipmentOSHA 10 and/or OSHA 30 certification requiredHigh School Diploma, Vocational School Diploma, or GED requiredCompletion of a formal welding training program preferred (apprenticeship, technical school, military training, or formal company program)U.S. Citizen with an active or eligible Secret Security ClearanceWork Environment:This role involves working in industrial or shipyard settings, which may include confined spaces, elevated platforms, and variable temperatures.
